Singleton’s just a marketing genius

AN NRL team is just what the Central Coast should have — a professional sporting franchise.

John Singleton is a maestro in creating winners. He got the Newtown Jets to a grand fmal and now joms with another traditional foundation club in North Sydney which deserves to be back.

After all, it was Norths move that motivated the construction of the stadium complex. Rounding off this

partnership is Central Coast Country League which is ready to play with the big kids.

All those whiners who do not fathom the modern concept of fran chise and business in sport can forget about a team of Pelicans or Crabs.

Take a look at the foundation plaque in the stadium and the seats which display the word Bears.

This will be a modern partnership with purpose.

This is what the NRL is supposed to represent. Singleton respects tradition yet demands results and, as he says, the bear is used internationally as a sporting symbol.

I’m sure there will be other colours with the red and black. This is the work of a marketing genius — something new with something old for the future. Maybe something that will impress the NRL.
