BIG-STEVE'S RED & BLACK SITE - 3/5/04

The Bears have a bye this week however they may face their biggest battle yet when this Wednesday The NRL Partnership Committee meets to consider whether or not to expand the NRL competition.

John Singleton has proactive again in the media both on TV on 7s Sunday sports show and in the Herald: Bear Market: Singo Sums Up Gosford Bid And Says It Won't Cost A Cent. Again Singo is expressing his disbelieve of the indecision to award the franchise to the Central Coast Bears and again expressing his angst that the ARL members of the Committee is not proactive about the return of a traditional Club to the NRL. Norths great Greg Florimo has talked of the "travesty of injustice" after the Bears were "encouraged" to move to the Central Coast in his article: From The Bears Den - May.

Both Flo and Singo are 100% right on this and the Partnership Committee has messed around with supporters feelings for too long. See my letter expressing my last minute feelings in the Letters Section: I am a North Sydney Bears tragic and proud of it.

You can still help too. NRL Director of Media, John Brady will pass on any letters or emails to the Partnership Committee. His email is johnb@nrl.com.au and address National Rugby League, PO Box 3498, Sydney 2001. Also go to the Contact list in the Editorial Section: The Time Is Now!! (also accessible from the Home page) and voice your opinion.
