It's Enough To Make A Grown Man Commit Murder!
BIG-STEVE'S RED & BLACK SITE - 11/3/04

See the article referred to in this editorial No To 16 Teams: NRL Will Reject Expansion.

Only Yesterday David Gallop was reported to say "It would heal the last wound by bringing back the only foundation club which completely missed out in the rationalisation process" - a clear indication that the League is at least seriously considering a 16th team.

However today the Telegraph has reported that the NRL partnership is unlikely to grant a 16th licence.

Are these people playing with our minds?

It seems unbelievable to me that a professional sporting administration should give out such mixed messages. It's like the one hand (The NRL) does not know what the other hand (The Partnership Committee) is doing.

But in reality the decision has not been made and Mr Gallop is yet to make his recommendation to the Partnership Committee.

The ARL has also hit back at John Singleton saying they are not anti Bears.  The fact is Singleton and the Bears are not looking to the ARL to be non anti Bears but to be pro Bears. It is the ARL's duty to be looking after the interests of traditional supporters.  The ARL have survived because of the support  of the public and The Bears turned down the lucrative Northern Sydney Super League franchise to support the ARL. The ARL owes it to not just Bears supporters but all supporters of traditional clubs to look after their interests.

Who knows what will finally happen. Let just hope that peoples feelings are taken seriously.
