Warriors-Souths Clash Moved Across Sydney Harbour
STUFF.CO.NZ - 4/5/2005

Stdney: The New Zealand Warriors' National Rugby League (NRL) visit to South Sydney has moved across Sydney Harbour after a venue clash with rugby's Super 12.

The Rabbitohs have been forced to move the round 11 clash on May 21 to North Sydney Oval - home of the North Sydney Bears - now it seems almost certain the New South Wales Waratahs will home a semifinal at Aussie Stadium at the same time (1930NZT).

Aussie Stadium venue manager, the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust, announced yesterday it had reserved the stadium for the Waratahs, who may only learn if they have home advantage in the play-offs after the final round-robin game against the Blues on May 13.

"It is unfortunate that the schedules have clashed between ourselves and the Waratahs, however we are looking forward to a healthy crowd at North Sydney Oval," Rabbitohs chief executive Shane Richardson said.

The move should cause minimum disruption to the Warriors, considering the other option was a match on the central coast at Gosford, an hour from Sydney.

Television commitments ensured the encounter could not be switched to Sunday when two other matches are already scheduled.
