A good team came up against an even better team on Sunday when the North Sydney Jersey Flegg team were competitive against the highly rated Parramatta Eels.

"I was happy with the effort" Coach Josh White said "Having said that, we lost".

The Bears commitment was tested though out the entire match at one stage coming with in four points of a victory. But they were unable to capitalize on it before Parramatta score two relatively soft trys to seal the match.

"Parramatta have the pick of the crop in the juniors" said coach White who himself was a Parramatta junior. "It was disappointing that they scored two soft trys against us in the first half and again in the second half".

Final score 38-22 to Parramatta.

Josh White named forward Cheyne Tickle, Johnny Russell and Former Souths junior Lee Temaari as standouts.

The Bears next play South Sydney.

Parramatta 38 (G Williams 3, P Marzella, B Oake, N Armit, C Smith tries C Smith 5 goals) defeated North Sydney 22 (T Woodbine 2, J Russell, S Mataora tries L Tamaari 2, B Poisel goals).
