Under the disadvantage
of playing a home match at Leichhardt Oval and coming up against last
years premiers, the boys were patchy in the first half. But a
characteristic comeback in the second half revived the possibility of a
win.
Football Club CEO Greg
Florimo said “They lost concentration in the first half as Canberra
took a lead 26-0. But to the boys credit they came back in the second
half with some great trys and less errors”.
But the revival was too late.
Try scorers were,
Tristan Ramsey x2, Clint Courtney x1, Scott McLean x1 and Nathan Smith
x1. Scott McLean kicked 3 from 5 try conversions.
In almost a mirror
image to the Premier League the usually consistent and strong Jersey
Flegg team were slow to start in the first half. But an entertaining
second half from the boys took them within 6 points.
Norths Legend Greg
Florimo had this to say, "Canberra are a team that will punish you if
you let them but with fifteen minutes to go they decided to have a go".
But as in the latter match it was too late in the day. Final score 16-10 to Canberra.
Try scorers were, Lee
Tamaara x1 and Ina Papera x1. Nathan Ferguson kicked 1 from 2
conversion trys.
