Norths Announce Their Line-up For The World Sevens
By BIG-STEVE
BIG-STEVE'S RED & BLACK SITE - 17/1/04

On Thursday I spoke to rugby League legend Greg Florimo. He said he was very excited about and very much looking forward to his club competing in the 2004 World Sevens.

While many people don't consider Sevens Football to be Serious football, The Bears are taking their participation seriously. And while teams such as The Bulldogs will deliberately field a second string team Norths will put all the resources it has into the Sevens.

However there is a disclaimer that is necessary here. It will be very difficult for Norths to complete with teams that that have the enormous resources of the NRL teams. Norths has struggled loosing many players  to NRL clubs over the pass few years and it will be an enormous achievement if they are successful.

Having said that I believe they are capable and while they have struggled against the really "big" teams like Canberra and Penrith they showed enormous skills against  Parramatta and Souths.

What ever happens I wish the whole team good luck.

See my letter of good luck in the Letters Section.
