Peter Peters' attempts to liven up the
North Sydney/Manly rugby league rivalry over the past two weeks by
calling the Bears "a corpse" has gone down like a lead balloon among
Norths' people.
In Response to the Bears' attempts to
qualify for the World Sevens tournament on January 21, Peters was
quoted in the North Shore Times
as saying:
"We don't really see Norths as rivals.
It's pretty hard to have a rivalry with a corpse." North Sydney's
coaching staff of Gary Larson and Greg Florimo are not amused. "He
likes to put people down and there's no need for it," Larson said.
Let's hope the Bears make it through
to the main draw at the Sydney Football Stadium on the weekend of
